My survey Vodou’s Itty Bitty Human Trafficking Problem has its own home at endvoodootrafficking.org.

It collects 48 excerpts from government reports, court records, UN and IOM findings, academic research, and journalism on the use of Vodou-influenced beliefs to control trafficking victims, most of them women and children moved from West Africa into Europe. Sections cover child trafficking and ritual murder in the United Kingdom, sex trafficking in the European Union, child abuse in Benin, Nigeria, Togo, and elsewhere in West Africa, political terror in Haiti, cartel violence, and ritual abuse in the Western occult community. It ends with recommendations for law enforcement, NGOs, and practitioners, plus hotlines for reporting trafficking.

The current edition, from July 2026, fact-checks every quoted source and adds further court and UN material and the Channel 4 Unreported World documentary on children sold to pay for ceremonies in Benin. An earlier version appeared on Medium in November 2024.

The material is severe and may be difficult for survivors of abuse to read.

The research has since grown into Bound by Fear, an archive of court proceedings and official findings on spiritual abuse across every tradition and more than 140 countries.
